"The Xbox Technical Errors" strike back.

Its that time of the year when I feel unbelievably depressed.

Console Wars Episode V: "The Xbox Technical Errors" strike back.

Its the dreaded "Open Tray" problem! With personal experience, the two most common and deadly Xbox problems would be the "Red Ring of Death" (circa 2007) and the "Open Tray" error (circa 2 bloody days ago). Well I dealt with the red ring( pfft, who doesnt? ) when my dad sent it for repairs, which cost me like 2 weeks worth of game time. But we were fortunate because the warranty still held. Now, 4 years later, it comes and bites me in the ass.

This happens with every dvd or game disk. It starts reading, then BOOMZ "Open Tray", indicating the Xbox can't read your disk. By logic, the laser that scans the disk is faulty. And there have been tens of thousands of "home solutions" available on the Internet. I happen to be living proof that NONE of these solutions WORK.

Tap the console multiple times? Check.
Remove Hard Drive? Check.
Clear Cache? Check.
Remove internet connection? Check.
Tap the console harder? Check.
Hammer the console with your fists? Check.
Drop the console on padded carpet? Check.

If you've got a solution for this, I've done it and it doesn't work. The political correct solution to this problem would be to send it back to Microsoft, pay the fee and feel bad about yourself. Gah, it's exactly these kinds of moments when you curse Bill Gates and fuel arguments about why the PS3 prevails. I'm sure the Blu-Ray never screws up.

And when you try countless of times and it never fails to show that accursed "Open Tray" message, you just feel shitty inside. Really, really shitty. >:O
