The War is ( not ) won

Dragon Age Music Video !!! *grins like a cock

I actually got to play through this entire snowfield in the game. Of course this is CGI so everything looks 10 times better. The red-head archer chick, Leliana, actually looks pretty awesome. and the mage chick is none other than Morrigan, who happens to turn into a friggin spider in the video. :D

I really really hate my homework when I know I could be playing a whole playthrough. and if 4 Geography papers, Chemistry and Physics homework weren't depressing enough, I still have to study for Higher Chinese Mastery test. ( Readers all giggle and make lame jokes about my chinese )

Anyway, I am going to study for my Higher Chinese Paper 1 diligently tonight. Ta-ta.

Alvin and the Chipmunks are back crap

Shit I'm super lethargic, stuck with a shitload of homework and I realized Jerome and Xiu Ming watched Avatar without me. Yeah without the King of the Na'vi : King Nic . *sings the chorus of Good Charlotte's Misery

I woke up really early this morning ( 12 pm-ish ) and went for this super awesome Nasi Lemak with my cousins. We went to the mall after that for bowling where I, as always, scored 20points 2 gazillion crap-billion points. Not much people can do that. ;)

Yes and after that we went for the horrendous movie also known as Alvin and the Chipmunks 2. Lol its SO horrible it doesn't even get a review complete with pictures. I got the feeling that they were a couple of annoying rats. Yeah someone should grab them and put them in a blender, switch it on and film it. At least it would be a movie I would watch.

*Little girl: " You're a monster"

It's SO bad I found the preview for New Moon more interesting than that. And THAT my friend, says something. :D

EDIT: However I did enjoy the role of Toby, the guardian who is also known as Chuck on the hit TV-series.

After that ordeal we went to my grandmother's place to celebrate her birthday. Which is the gist of this entire Malaysia trip. and it was a vegetarian meal. ( please excuse me while I relive the horror )

*returns from bathroom.

Not a single piece of meat in the entire room. and as you know, I'm like ... the anti-vegetable. Kinda like Hitler with a touch of chlorophyll. Its entirely possible I eat so little vegetables that plants all over the globe like worship me as a god. But I still got to watch this awesome chinese movie : 不能说的秘密. The Jay-Chou one. To summarize it in one word: WOW. I LOVED it. You know, time travel, touching plot and pianos. I felt like bursting into the chorus of the song throughout the course of the movie. Of course in the typical NCC cock way. ;)

"Ni shuo ba ai jian jian fang xia hui zou geng yuan ... "

Hohoho

Merry christmas little elves. I'm spending my christmas in Malaysia with my cousins, appreciating what little time I have before I return to the miserable reality that is schoolwork. Nonetheless enjoy yourselves this Christmas and we all know what happens to BAAD kids. :)

~Nic

Last but not least.

Hi all. Heads up ... the previous post was made some time ago, so it may seem out of context. But who can let up such an anti-Twilight segment huh ? :)

So I'm in Malaysia now to spend Christmas and as we all know, the trip to Malacca is always considerably long. So I took the time to think about life. Well, I categorized it as 75% sleep, 25% deep-thought.
So... I look at what others write on their blogs. about their troubles with life or unexpressed feelings and I look back at mine "I like star wars and video games and Kristen Bell". Lol I guess I have this mental barrier that bars me from all things emotional. I always believed. why should someone willingly make himself or herself feel bad right? So I wonder if that makes me ... unemotional y'know.

I always dabbled in things that I loved like science-fiction and games. Sure girls have no interest in geeks and I often come of as facetious, silly and comical to my friends. But I'm happy where I am.

Maybe I could start like a cult. *does that smily that contemplates an evil plan

and you know what else I feel deeply for. Yes that is right, its the new dark fantasy epic by Bioware, Dragon Age: Origins! (ROFL transition complete)

Yes the geek-bell has rung, hurry away or Darth Vader might eat you! >:(

Happy holidays people :D
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Words alone cannot describe my love and awe for this RPG masterpiece. For DA:O, think Diablo II with a lighter tone and then a sprinkle of dragons with a mix of blood. The game itself offers tons of customization with a deep and interesting storyline. It really keeps in line with the "dark fantasy" theme. Even the ending did not feel so " happily ever after" .

So the key portion of the game was the Origins portion whereby the game fleshes out the "origin stories" of the protaganist ( yes that's you! ). On my first playthrough I was this rogue Elf character with midnight black shoulder-length hair. Though I did enjoy that style of gameplay, over time I preferred the use of mages with their imbalanced spell prowess. and the animations are just awesome to watch. So on my second playthrough I played as a Human Mage who reminds me of Darth Bane. You can imagine that DA:O provides a ton of replayability and compels you to journey through Ferelden more than once with radically different outcomes.

I really loved the soundtrack. If not, it is my favourite soundtrack amongst all my games. Obviously next to Assassin's Creed 2's Renaissance Music. When I first completed the game and sat through the end credits ( I believe that people who sit through end credits are always rewarded ) ... they played this song " This is War" by 30 seconds to Mars. and I really thought of my virtual adventures through Fereldan and I loved the game so much more.

I gotta mention that their characters are so deep, I almost feel like I have a crush on one of the female companions. Yeah her name is Morrigan, ( a name often associated with crows ) who's this really dark, witch-like kind of companion who's also really beautiful. She made me really depressed when she left the party to save my life from the arch-demon. and it is difficult to get me depressed. of course we can all agree that were she a real woman, she'd be rejecting me by now. :)

Happy holidays fellow geeks/

Fury of the Black Pepper Chicken

You know that advestisement for the new Black Pepper KFC chicken ? biggest understatement of the century. They should name it the Black Chicken of Death and Diarrheoa. I have a rather moderate threshold for spicy stuff but this chicken ... This chicken spits on the threshold , performs a moonsault on my digestive system and proceeds to unleash his wrestling finisher on my bladder. ( Oh god the horror )

One of my motto's in life is "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." Put simply, for every nice and awesome thing that happens, something equally shitty and bad is gonna happen. So technically, its rather positive when life seems like shit but becomes really negative when you like Life. So when you get diarrheoa from KFC, you can expect something good in return.

So... I would like to take back my insults of the New Moon movie. (Fans all over the world scream in ecstacy) No not, the Twilight series you fucked up fanatics, (screaming dies down) just the movie. Despite the incessent spoilers from Deepak on my left and the 4D earthquake special effects from Xiu Ming shaking his legs, I have to admit that I sorta enjoyed the movie.

I always thought that the actress who plays Bella had only one emotion. That is the drug-induced " I think I'm in a coma... " melancholic face.

As demonstrated (ohveryskillfully) in this picture.

In this movie she introduces 2 new emotions. The " OHNOES Edward's gonna twinkle in the sunlight" sign of desperation.

and the " I like to scream randomly while I sleep" emotion. so now thats one plus two, so ( grabs a calculator) ... she has a total of four emotions. *round of applause

Of course. you could partially attribute 50% of that pleasure to ruining the movie for others in the cinema. I remember the scene where Jacob takes off his T-shirt, for no apparent reason I presume, and I could distinctly hear the chicks behind us screaming. Then I, ( as a joke ) started to scream like a fangirl as well and soon enough all 6 of us were laughing like immature boys. Which we are. *executes a edward-hating star-wars fanboy chuckle.

Get your Twilight:New Moon DVD today ! . Terms and conditions apply. Immature boy sold seperately. :D

Nothing is true, everything is permitted

Alphadog and Oh-Oh-Omegalomaniac ( ah ah yeaaa ah ah )

I think the new skin is oh-so-cool. Just posting to celebrate the end of " Holiday homework: Phase 1 " , I have all my ace-learning worksheets, math worksheets and english homework done. I have yet to do my Physics , Chemistry and Geog. Which I will surely finish by the last week.

Quote of the Day by yours truly : " Planning makes a difference. and Twilight sucks. "

I hope the lion eats the fucking lamb

Yet another reason why Twilight is detrimental to your mental health.

http://entertainment.sg.msn.com/features/article.aspx?cp-documentid=3742291

Stephanie Meyer has changed the meaning of fanatism. In fact, she has created a new generation of fans who are bashing the shit out of the old fans. Now, people will be discussing who will win in a fight, a deranged Twilight fan or Wolverine.

You don't see us kidnapping Boba Fett or robbing shops for life sized statuettes of Darth Vader. Jeez... ( Although , really , you can't deny that a full scaled replica of Darth Vader would be AWESOME )

Since we're all in the mood for poking fun at the Twilight series. Here are some photos for your enjoyment.

This is an excerpt from a Twilight parody. Classic shit.

Its Keyboard Cat! I love that song. Before that listen to the ridiculously dumb blonde chick.

My mother says I can't die

Good news. Gears of War the Movie has been confirmed! Hopefully we can get Batista to play Marcus Fenix, that would be frikkin sweeeet.

The ANIMAL :D

Hey feel free to spot the similarities.

Bad news, the director behind Twilight is slated to work on the movie. Please God, no locust spawn love scenes. No handsome shapshifting locust spawns who do not like to wear T-shirts. No teenage vegetarian locust spawns that sparkle like glitter glue when exposed to sunlight. Please oh please.

Good news again. The studio behind franchises with the likes of 300 and Die Hard is working on it as well. Hoorah!

Craig David - Insomnia

Hey what did you know, the self-proclaimed procrastinator finished 2 of his ace-learning papers in a record ... (adjusts blog post timing ) 3hrs ! and now I can't sleep for no apparent reason. Crap. Math homework must be the secret ingredient to coffee.

Feels like ... IN-SOM-NEEEE-AHHHH-AH-AH-AH.

"The Sith always betray one another, "

"but I'm sure you'll learn that soon enough" ~ Master Shaak Ti

You know when you start enjoying holiday life, think all you have for homework is that thin stack of A-math and physics worksheets and then you realize there is a shitload of homework that they store online? What's worse is when you're a shameless procrastinator. Right next to me is a pile of printed ace-learning homework I promised to do at 9pm. It's currently 2.14 in the morning. Its things like these that make you think, "Shit, Life's a real bitch"

But she's an AWESOME bitch at that. You know what else is awesome? Assassins Creed 2. Its one of those games that you play and you think, " Life's good". Hell yea, it rocks so much I decided to place it on Nic's stack of awesome games, next to the Master Chief and Batman. While people were playing mediocre games on Facebook, I was leaping into the air and plunging my hidden blades into to FACES of Templars and the Pope. ( Don't get me wrong, in this game the antagonist is a corrupted Pope who feels up young children )

My favourite part of the game was the story. It is just simply amazing. Enticing if you will. You can really tell that a lot of work was put into this. Lots of several conspiracy theories surrounding what really happens around us. Things like the origin of mankind. A New World Order ( commonly abbreviated as NWO ). The Apocalypse. and they fuse all these theories together so perfectly into a single video game. I spent the better part of the holidays researching all this theories cus I was so enticed by the story of this game. Books, articles and trusty Wikipedia. Oh and theres the gameplay and graphics which are also amazing and beautiful respectively but you can get a more detailed review at IGN. PS. The Italian Renaissance is a really beautiful period of time to live in. You even get to meet Leonardo Da Vinci ! Who's name I learnt was pronounced "Leh-oh-nar-do"

So there's the intellectual portion with the concept and the conspiracy theories and the hardcore assassinations with oh so much blood. And that's why I simply love this game. If you're a fan of conspiracy theories and looking for some action that will keep you at the edge of your seat at the same time, Assassin's Creed 2 is the game for you. :D

Oh dear, I hope he lands safely. Atop that guard and in the process driving his blade into the guard's face! :D

Wow I did not expect that to come off as a review. I was just blogging to drag time until I do my homework. More on popular culture.

Avatar's coming out. Deemed one of the coolest sci-fi movies by ... me. Lots and lots of hype surrounding this movie. And according to the many previews I've seen on http://www.ign.com/ , its hype well deserved. Just search James Cameron's Avatar on Google.

I Love My New Mass Effect 2 Wallpaper

Bioshock and why I don't like it to an extent

Never play Bioshock through the night. I felt like I could shit my heart out while playing the game. Twice.

There was a moment when I was just searching the storage locker for some Pistol Ammo, everything's cool. The sound of a leaking pipe emanates throughout the poorly-lit morgue. I turn around and GOOD LORD a damn splicer stands just some centimetres behind me. Just looking at me with those forlorn eyes. I struggle to climb back up to my chair. My middle finger is convulsing uncontrollably as I desperately attempt to use the mouse wheel to select my Shotgun. I was going to destroy this idiot for scaring the shit out of me. BAM! A shot straight through the chest as the Splicer flies in the opposite direction, landing a few metres from where the autopsy table stands. I try to calm my breathing and appreciate how this game can screw me just like that :)

That said, Bioshock is a lovely game. I really like the setting of everything. Imagine a vast underwater utopia. On the ocean floor of the Arctic Ocean. Now, imagine a disaster that breaks out in this underwater city, everything is destroyed. All that remains are debris, remains of once great civilisation. Throw in an Ex-Marine stranded in the middle of the ocean, who somehow finds his way into this hellhole filled with drug-induced zombies and you have Bioshock. This really isn't a review as it is a very detailed anecdote. Technically, if the information at IGN FAQs is realiable, I'm only 60% done with the game. and I can't wait for more of these fantastic, horribly traumatizing game experiences.

I'll probably do a review once I'm done.

Episodes From Liberty City

Its the Episodes From Liberty City! due to be released today on the 29th of Ocotober! It contains all Downloadable Content or DLC as cool people would call it, for Grand Theft Auto IV. That refers to " The Lost and Damned " , a series of events based on the turmoils of a Biker Gang Leader " Johnny Klebitz " . The second part of the DLC is " The Ballad Of Gay Tony ", a more adrenaline-filled, over-the-top adventure about Luiz Lopez, the assistant to nightclub tycoon Tony Prince, more commonly referred to as "Gay Tony", hence the title.

What I like about these two episodes, as Rockstar would call it, is that they are seamlessly interwoven into the main storyline of Grand Theft Auto IV. For example, a more obvious example was when the main protaganist Niko the Slavian Badass teamed with Johnny the Biker to collect some drugs from Gay Tony. Yet, who would have guessed that the mysterious enigma that foiled their plans, was Luiz himself. So I really love how Rockstar combines all these characters despite the generic difference in the game's themes.

So where's my legal of-age buddy when I need him ?

Ahem. Therefore I shall wait quietly and obediently to buy this controversial game, until I am of age 18, whereby I will be mature enough to understand the underlying concepts and dangers of drug abuse, profanities and meaningless violence. ....... :)

Time to Jump In

Being sick sucks as hell. I just feel horrible. It involves lots of staying in bed. Drug consumption. and I get migraines just playing 30 minutes of Bioshock. really really bad migraines. will be back to school tmr ( I hear a groan ). Also, I lose alot of weight when I'm sick. So much for those chicken cutlets huh ?

So... the exams just ended ... the internet is down ... Life Sucks huh ? No! Not when ... you have 3 new awesome games to play!

Say hello to the greatest comic book game in the history of video gaming. I intended to buy this early on, but then PS3 announced that they had a bonus gameplay for PS3 players so I really kinda shunned away from this game for fear of comparisons. However, it got 9.3 stars upon 10 in IGN the week it came out , so thats when I really decided that I HAD to get this game.

And I have to say, it really does live up to its name. The game starts in the Batmobile with the Caped Crusader personally driving the Joker back the Elizabeth Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane. Basically, Arkham Asylum is where they send all the unstable Batman villians in DC comics. e.g. Joker , Scarecrow... In a (not so) surprising turn of events, the Joker escapes and releases all the inmates of Arkham Asylum free , leaving the Dark Knight to clean up his mess. From there, you're off on an adventure that ranks right below The Dark Knight movie in terms of awesome Batman experiences.

In terms of gameplay its just really enjoyable. Personally, my favourite aspect was the hand-to-hand beat them up combat. Really really slick moves. and the way the controller vibrates in your hands it just feels like you are really kicking the living shit out of these guys! You kinda feel "empowered" as you strike, reverse and takedown your enemies, unleashing Bruce Wayne's fury onto the world.

Another part of gameplay is the " Stealth " sections. This is where you get the drop on a roomful of bad guys who are patrolling. These sections are cool because they forced me to play like Batman and not some random action game character.

I'd shoot up to a gargoyle, kick on detective mode to see how many enemies I was up against, and then start picking them off one by one. If there was just one dude with a gun in the group, I'd glide in to take him out and then move to the other baddies. If there was more than one gunman, I'd stick to the shadows so as not to get my brains blown against the wall.

There's a lot of freedom on how you want to engage these bad guys, and it's one of the best parts of the game. You could wait for a guy to be alone and then glide kick in and perform a ground takedown, but you've got access to Batman's entire utility belt if you want. Once everything's unlocked, you can use explosive gel to blow out walls and knock guys out, you can through Sonic Batarangs that'll then explode, you can pull people over railings with the grappling hook, and you smash through windows to take guys out.

Voice acting is superb. Did you know that the guy that voices the Joker is Mark Hamill? YES , THE LUKE SKYWALKER! Saw him doing it on Youtube and its just really amazing. The laughter and all. Arleen Sorkin sounds terrific as the Harley Quinn. Everything is just spot-on and the soundtrack really reinforces the dark setting of Arkham Asylum.

Graphics look really great. This is what Batman's world feels like. It's dark and gritty. You'll feel Batman's frustration and the terror of hostages. The game also looks great in motion. Batman's damage detail by the end of the game is a nice touch.

Batman: Arkham Asylum is the greatest comic book videogame of all time. This is a Dark Knight story that is well-told, packs some truly fun gameplay elements, has topnotch voice talent, and feels like it's part of Batman canon. Aside from Deadpool, Batman has become my favorite comic book character. :)

You were born in the zoo ...

Thats right, Happy (very ) Belated Birthday to myself. and thank you very much to all those who wished me ... happy birthday. Birthday celebration was really just a gathering of relatives ... playing some old-school Halo with cousins. Decimation of cousins.

( ROFL ... this guy named " Fuck you " just signed in on MSN. Really sweet huh? Its like your Windows Live Messenger is pointing the middle finger at you. )

Anyway... I got a Calvin Klein wallet from my uncle and family, which was one of my favourites. My mum got me an Adidas bag. My sister got me this chest workout thingy, (you bend it here and there). My dad bought a SW Xbox360 Game. and I really like it all. So its an enjoyable birthday for Nic this year. :)

That's a photo of the birthday cards my little cousins drew for me. Apparently they stayed up till midnight crayon-ing these cards for me. A4 size paper crayon-ed fully on both sides. I was just really touched :)

and since I have nothing much to do, lets do some game reviews.

Relax ( Relax ) , Take It Easy

Hey, Just felt like relaxing today after (a few) days of hardcore mugging. And the English and Geography exams passed pretty well. Unless in English, "well" means "oh-crap-I-forgot-one-paragraph!" But Geography was indeed decent.

Anyone did Q1 and 3 ? And only knew 5 of the points for the Q1 Level Descriptor? Anyone ?

Some really intense basketball from 1pm to 5pm after that. Nah, it was really kinda relaxed. Just practiced for some 57-pointers here and there. Couple of lousy matches. Went home had early dinner and took a nap slept till 10am this morning.

Then when I had nothing else left to do, I had this wonderful idea of looking up my old blog on Multiply. Kinda like reading an old diary. Except with a background of "Smiling Pasta" , the brilliant Taiwan drama from 2006. Yes, I was once into Taiwan and Korean dramas.

Apparently I used to be addicted to the computer! Yeah, and I would hate my parents from time to time for scolding me. A lot of it details my journey and development as a buddy sci-fi geek e.g. reading sci-fi novels, watching re-runs of Star War... watching more re-runs of Star Wars.

Side note: I had the horrible-lest English back then. Its so ridiculous that I had a post called " Please Cum in maii house! " It kept referring to some guy called "mie".

Yet, at the same time, I realized that I was very happy. I kept saying that I would laugh until I cried. Particularly during Sec 1. When I was still playing catching with Justin, Xiu Ming, Shing Yi and Zhi Xiang. And we were laughing all the time in NCC. And I was still passing my Chinese. Truthfully, I'm hardly ever this happy nowadays. I can't even remember of the last time that I " laughed until I cry man" . I'm not sure whether its the stress or the hormones but somehow I wish that I could have stayed in that period of happiness for a little longer. Just a little longer.

5 things I hate about Season 3 of Singapore Idol

1)Farhan " Pretty Boy" Shah is very unfortunately still in the competition. The guy can't sing. Seriously. I can drink a bowl of alphabets, fart out a string of words and it will still sound better than him. dear lord he attempted a falsetto and whatever that is that came out sounded like one of those cats being raped or something. Hahaha , its kinda like me and jerome singing "creep". Together.

2)The people who vote and support him. I have this very strong dislike for people ( particularly adolescent girls ) who just vote blindly for these kind of contestants. People like farhan feed off these young girls' obsessions with their idols. They have absolutely NO sense of talent and somehow derive gratification from voting for their guy even though they know that he can't sing for shit. And think about the amount of money they must waste on him. They could pay their parent's medical bills after hearing him sing with that money.

3)Instead of the Pretty Boy being eliminated, one of my favourites Syltra Lee was out. That really really pissed me off. I thought she was so impressive at the Piano Show! You can check out her Piano Show performance here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FE-nbHDdQB4. And judge for yourself whether or not she deserves to be out.

4)Fathin Amira. I think she's like a female version of Frodo Baggins. If Frodo ever participated in Hobbit Idol.

5) There are no " Rock " contestants. A lot of pop and jazz ... but ... NO ROCK. I remember Season 1 had sylvester. and Season 2 had Jonathan and Paul Twohill. And season 3 has ...
So. fingers crossed in hoping to hear someone sing "Sweet Child Of Mine".

That said, I really do appreciate the rest of the contestants. I think Charles Wong rocks with his rendition of Flo Rida's "Low". Sylvia Ratonel is really hot. So is Tabitha Nauser. I think Faizal has got really cool moves and the voice to boot. More importantly he chooses the right songs because both songs he sang are 2 of my favourite songs. I really enjoyed Duane Ho's Pokerface rendition, even better than the original I would say. He makes me like Lady Gaga.

Happy Mugging! I have been doing so for the past 4 hours.

P.S. I'm expecting death threats from farhan's fans anytime now.

Gaming

Hahaha I think this commercial or spoof , however low-budget it was, really epitomizes my beliefs. namely my dislike for Twilight whores ( " I belong to Team Edward! " then *screams randomly) and secondly my absolute love for all things gaming. Enjoy.

Btw ... 0.36 to 0.41 ... PRICELESS

Suit up

Today ... we celebrate life as well as death. We celebrate victories. Actually , just my victories. Today, on the 22nd of september , a new era of gaming was born. Today, we celebrate the release of ...

Halo 3 : ODST

The Ballad of Gay Tony

I was reading an article on the second and latest GTA IV Downloadable content : The Ballad of Gay Tony, on www.IGN.com. and they mentioned remote explosives, train-jacking, parachutes and rocket launcher-shotgun fusions.

Oh and one more thing . There's gonna be a tank.

For 5 whole minutes, I could not wipe that damned smile of my face. I'm such a GTA whore.

Nice try

I warned you

.

The Moment of Truth

I just wanted to say how much I enjoy Singapore Idol and how it plays with people's feelings so well. I remember how one of the girls thought she was gonna be accepted into the final 12 and she had this big grin on her face. Then Gurmit asks one of the lousy contestants to stand up next to her and all of a sudden her face is so damn grim. LOL. that was classic.

There seems to be quite a lot of homework this holiday. Comparable to the June Holidays. But at least we had 4 times the amount of time to complete them and half the number of holiday lessons and tuition. In fact I still have my Social Studies/Geography Practice Paper/Higher Chinese/Physics and Chem left to complete. Basically 1/2 of the total homework. I'm really starting to hate this thing called Stress and Pressure.

and NO ONE can own me in Halo. I repeat . NO ONE . so don't bother tagging about the contrary because I've recently activated a application on my tagbaord. Its called ... Nicholas-is-the-Master-Cheif-without-his-helmet app.

(Stop reading my blog. Do your homework man)

So this is what a dream feels like

I feel so Synester-esque today. My guitar teacher taught us the guitar solo to Hysteria ... which was an interesting experience. There was a girl in the class who broke down. It went something like this ,

Guitar Teacher : " Hey you okay ? "
Ms I-look-like-I-slash-myself-constantly : " Its soo hard ! ... "

and I was beside her (XingZaiLeHuo)-ing because I nearly perfected it. Hell, the fact that I just used a Chinese proverb is a real testament to how proud I am of myself today.

In other news, I feel like I'm procrastinating more and more. Not to the extent that my L1R5 will drop to like 44. In fact I got one quarter of that. But in the sense that when I tell myself to finish my D23, I'm actually off annihilating the human race in GTA 4. With the holidays approaching I do not know what to expect. But I'm pretty assured that I won't die very horribly. Like a terrified Jie Kang in Halo 3.

Thankfully, they don't call me the Discipline Head for nothing. A small excerpt from my experiences as a Discipline Head.

*guy struggling to don his beret -> Discipline Head walks by.

DH : " 3, 2, 1 ... Adjustments Cut! ... You. Knock it down. Can you speed up next time? Adjustment cut means no movement already. Carry on 10."
Poor Guy :" One Seargent. Two Seargent. Three Seargent"

DH : "I can't hear you at all. Start from negative 1. "
Poor Guy : " Negative 1. negative 2 .. "

ROFL. Anyway it seemed hilarious to us Specialists at that time.

Its 12 ! That means its the 6th of September and also the birthday of my all time best friend Choong Xiu Ming.

Hey man. a very big Happy Birthday to you. I have never known a friend as joyous and friendly as you for the past 15 years. Sometimes you bring back happiness into our lives when no one else can. Though I know you may feel troubled by love and infatuation sometimes, I hopethat you will find happiness in your life someday. Perharps in some secluded corner of Macdonalds? So therefore ... to a fellow FANBOY ... the person who has a slight chance of winning me in Halo ... and forever my good friend , Happy Birthday Xiu Ming :)

Mr Rocky

hear the new song on the blog? Thats Hysteria by Muse. And I'm halfway to learning it ;) My electric guitar teacher thinks we're advacned enough to play this amazingly awesome piece of music. I'm really starting to like Muse actually. They were also the culprits responsible for SuperMassive Black Hole, the song that played during the Twilight Baseball scene. So all you Edward/(whatsherfrigginname) bitches should pretty well know.

I really feel like being videogame geeky today so thats what I shall do. First off lets start with Halo: ODST the highly awaited Halo3 standalone game.

Basically, ODST, initially named Recon, takes place just after Halo 2 where Master Cheif -117 raids New Mombasa City. After he leaves, the ODSTs (Orbital Drop Shock Troopers) are employed to clear up his mess. Little do they know that the Covenant had decided to send reinforcements and without the Cheif, how were they gonna survive endless hoards of alien juggernauts? Fight la! So basically this is the story of the untold heroes behind the scenes, the ODSTs.

Teamwork and cooperation is really the key to this standalone game. being ODSTs, after all they are still human. I like to think that the ODSTs would be the SWAT equivalant to HALO. and definitely teamwork is essential to a SWAT team or they all die a horrible, horrible ... horrible death.

As quoted by Legendary-acheiver Shao Xuan: " So cool sia, 4-player Co-op ".

By the way thats us at the Singapore Toys Game and Comics Con with Master Cheif! One of the high points of the day. Standing next to a Spartan.

Thats right, a new member of the Halo Family, ODST brings in a new mode called Firefight, which is the Halo answer to Gears of Wars' Horde. Firefight allows 4 players to team up as ODST and as God would have it, the team faces wave after wave of enemy Covenant. so the point to this new mode is to finish as many waves as you can within a limit of 7 lives. Sounds too difficult ? additionally, after every 5 waves , a Skull will be unlocked. Not in a good way like " Oh I've just unlocked new hairstyles for my Bratz character " or " Cool, I've just unlocked my hidden potential in DotA ". When you unlock a skull, Covenant do very bad things to you. For example, one skull called Catch, causes enemy Covenant to throw more grenades then they usually would. Pfft, "more" is a fucking understatement. another one called Tough Luck, increases the enemy's evasion. So ... Tough Luck !

I'm soooooo impressed by this game. It would be a SIN in my book not to buy this game. I expect it to cause as much as a single Halo Xbox 360 game, but it's worth it. really. I can imagine 4 of us sitting together and kicking Covenant backside ... and not just kicking. More like damaging thier arseholes so badly they can never again take a shit in their life. That ... people ... is something I would really enjoy.

So thats my take on Halo 3 ODST.

Hooray !

So I decided to blog ... waiting for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to install in my BRAND NEW computer. By the way, did I mention that ? That my old motherboard was corrupted and that my uncle brought me to Sim Lim Square to buy parts for a NEW computer WHICH .. I personally assembled myself under the guidance of my uncle ? ... I doubt so :)

So therefore, with the single purpose of showing off ... here are some of the new features of my new computer ( as much as I can recall ). Intel DDR Core-2-Duo Processor. GeForce 9600 Series Graphics Card. Wireless MicrosoftKeyboard and Gaming Mouse. LG 19 inch LCD Display Screen. In other words, my computer looks friggin awesome.

Oh and theres the added bonus of learning how to assemble a computer. ( Its pretty simple actually ) My uncle hopes for me to join the technological sector when I grow up ... I'm still considering though. My real passion lies in science fiction , video games ...

"Yo, Joe ! "

G.I Joe is just AWESOME. truly truly awesome. I can't seem to think of the last movie that was as purely awesome as G.I.Joe. and to quote the movie, " Evil never looked so good". Baroness aka Sienna Miller is beautiful. Even more so than Megan Fox. ( Complain on my tagboard tyvm ) I would say that Megan Fox is hot but Sienna Miller is beautiful. See the difference. Anyways, I think her spectacles attract me or something. Baroness, the Bespectacled Badass Cobra Hottie.

Lol I just have so much to say. I never knew much about the franchise initially just that it was some kind of fanbase itself. Kinda like Star Wars. the toys and comics and all. and Definitely there was a sense of fanboy-ism throughout the movie.

On the topic of Snake-eyes, the ninja assasin clad in black. The actor who portrayed him, Ray Park, was the same actor who portrayed Darth Maul in Star Wars Episode 1, who is my one and only all-time favourite Star Wars character. Coincidentally, he seems to portray silent, powerful badasses in all my favourite movies. I literally cheered in his first apperance. Then followed on to imitate him after the movie, much to the annoyance of other people in the cinema.

I enjoyed the other characters as well though. My favourite scenese were definitely ...

The encounter between Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow. Both times.

Baroness' scene atop the Eiffel Tower.

The chase through Paris

I give this movie 4/5 stars. 1 for Baroness. 1 for Snake-eyes. 1 for the non-stop action and 1 for the interesting conflicts and back stories. Especially the Snake-eyes vs Storm Shadow Conflict. Definitely a movie worth watching, If you're deciding between Up and GI.Joe, choose the one with the hot bespectacled chick. :D
